    Fraud Alert Service

A free service to protect your account

Due to the worldwide increase of fraud on credit and debit cards, Oneida Savings is launching a free Fraud Alert Service in the interest of protecting your account(s). This free service is being activated on May 1, 2014 and will enable real-time alerts and authorizations to take place at the time of purchase.

    What this means to you:

Starting May 1, 2014 the Fraud Alert Service will send you a text/SMS message* at the time of a suspicious or unusual transaction. The suspicious or unusual transaction will initially be declined at the point of purchase. You will simultaneously receive a text/SMS message describing the transaction and you will have approximately fifteen minutes to approve the transaction by simply replying "Yes" to the text/SMS message received. If you did not originate the transaction, reply "No" and a Fraud Alert Specialist will call you immediately to begin the process of protecting your account.

If you do not utilize text messaging, or do not respond to the text message regarding the declined transaction, a telephone call will be made to the home phone number we have on record. This sequence of texting and phoning will be repeated every hour, and after multiple attempts a letter via U.S. mail will be sent to your home address.

    What you do next:
